Winter protection....

Winter is hard on pottery....it freezes and cracks from the temperature variations, freezing and thawing over and over again. Protect and insulate planted pots you want to leave out over winter by burying them in the soil or wrapping them with insulating material. Mulch perennials you want to protect. Turn empty pots upside down so moisture does not collect in the bottom while stored. And..........make sure your hoses are disconnected from the spigot to prevent a pipe from bursting. Insulate outside hose spigots with bell covers easily purchased from many places....Lowe's, Home Depot, gardening stores. Clean all gardening tools and put them away in a dry spot.
