And then there is my favorite housework quote....."A clean house is the sign of a dull mind." I'm not sure who said it, but it hangs on my friends wall amidst the piles of books and other interesting things.

Today, however, housework and gardens can take care of themselves. Sister and I are taking a little day trip on a tree lined highway to the coast for lunch....just to see the colored leaves which are spectacular. Even in the misty rain they have a glow about them....the enchantment of an autumn day begins.
