Pruning rose bushes!

pruning photoEarly spring is the best time to prune rose bushes.....removing dead wood and shaping the bush to open the center for good air circulation and sunlight in the center. I like to leave at least five healthy canes around the outside edges of the plant.
Dead heading pruning technique Use clean sharp pruning tool and cut at a 45 degree angle...seal wound with white glue to prevent infestation of cane borers or fungus. Remove any rubbish and do not put in with compost. For climbing roses....just cut back the winter deadwood and shape them for the grandest and tallest specimens that your trellis or fence can hold.
